Manual Therapy
Manual therapy interventions and exercise prescription are the cornerstone of our clinical product. Our goal for our all of our therapists is to obtain their certification in manual therapy (COMT) through the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS) within 2 years. We host all courses necessary for certification through MAPS.
As a part of our company orientation process, we offer structured tutorial sessions with senior staff members. The tutorial sessions are designed to augment your formal school training and past clinical experiences. Some topics covered in the tutorial sessions are: application of evidence based treatment, lower limb overuse injuries and treatment, shoulder injuries and treatment, spine pathologies and treatment, chronic pain, and neurodynamics. The clinical tutorials cover examination techniques, manual therapy interventions, specific exercise training and patient education strategies. Additional tutorials cover treatment of injured workers, including examination techniques, documentation and communication guidelines.
Continuing Professional Education
In addition to all of this, we consistently bring in leaders in various fields of physical therapy for in-house continuing education. Included in our distinguished list of speakers are: David S. Butler, William Boissonault PT, DHSc, FAAOMPT; and Michael L. Voight PT, DHSc, SCS, OCS, ATC; as well as local physicians and educators.
We encourage our therapists and pave the path to take the APTA’s Orthopedic Certification Specialist (OCS) exam if that is a desire.
